How to Get Started with Breathwork

Beginners Guide To Breathwork

If you're a beginner, it’s important to start slow and not overwhelm yourself with complex techniques. Here’s a simple plan to help you incorporate breathwork into your daily routine:

1. Start with 5 Minutes a Day

Set aside a few minutes each day to practice breathwork. Start with simple techniques like diaphragmatic breathing or box breathing. Gradually increase the time as you become more comfortable.

2. Find a Quiet Space

Choose a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without distractions. This could be in your living room, bedroom, or even outside.

3. Be Mindful of Your Body

As you practice, pay attention to how your body feels. Notice any areas of tension or discomfort, and allow your breath to help release that tension. If at any point you feel lightheaded or dizzy, stop and resume normal breathing.

4. Use Apps or Guided Sessions

If you’re unsure about how to start, there are numerous apps and YouTube videos that offer guided breathwork sessions. These resources can be a helpful way to learn new techniques and stay motivated.

5. Be Patient and Consistent

Breathwork can take time to master, so be patient with yourself. With regular practice, you’ll begin to notice the calming and energising effects of breathwork on your mind and body.
